Any info on the CSR Harmony stack, is there experimental support or another SDK?

I accidentally bought a Sitecom CN-524 which uses the CSR stack which is a bummer, I can't find anything on the web.

There is a wiki which suggests there is an SDK, just not publicly available.

I've never seen an SDK/API for that stack. It also appears to have disappeared from CSR's website. On an archived copy it says "CSR has announced that it will be discontinuing investment in the Harmony software product line." at https://web.archive.org/web/20120816004345/http://www.csr.com/products/52/csr-harmony

So I think you should just switch to the Microsoft stack. See e.g. Switching any dongle to the Microsoft stack

I tried that, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. When the CSR drivers are not installed it does ring the new hardware sound, but it just doesn't show up in the device manager. 'Add a device' also doesn't show any bluetooth devices.

It is a Sitecom CN-524 (BT 4.0). I guess I'll just sell it and get another one. Can you suggest a specific BT 4.0 dongle that will work?

I also tried http://bluetoothinstaller.com/ but it can't find a bluetooth adapter..

Out of interest find how the dongle appears in Device Manager. On its properties dialog what is its Compatible Ids
(e.g. USB\Class_E0&SubClass_01&Prot_01
USB\Class_E0&SubClass_01
USB\Class_E0 )
and Hardware Ids
(e.g. USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_7558
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001 )

USB\DevClass_00&SubClass_00&Prot_00
USB\DevClass_00&SubClass_00
USB\DevClass_00
USB\COMPOSITE

and

USB\VID_0A12&PID_100B&REV_8891
USB\VID_0A12&PID_100B

This is with its driver deinstalled which causes it to be listed as USB Composite Device

I had a small twitter conversation with @CSR_plc and I asked about a freely useable SDK to which they replied that there isn't one, but that it is freely available after you buy it... Since then they removed the tweet.

Ahh yes. It doesn't appear as a BTH device. I remember finding an article how to switch its mode to standard. But I guess you've bought a new dongle by now. :-.)
