Hi all, I have succeeded developing a Windows 7 application which is able to pair with any nearby devices by entering the device's friendly name but that device has to be discoverable. Is there any method where I can connect to the nearby devices without setting the device discovery mode on?

From what I know, the device does not need to be in discoverable mode for other devices to connect to it. Correct me if I am wrong.

If you know a device's address the you can connect to it, even if it is 'non-discoverable'. However, to find when you only know the device by name you'll be doing a discovery and then filtering by that name......
